Community Pantry

We aim to make food and services accessible to all families in our community.

About

The Neighborhood Kitchen Collective is a nonprofit located within Cherokee Street of St. Louis City, MO. We believe in the power of food distribution and waste reduction to create a more sustainable community. Our mission is to distribute food to those in need while minimizing food waste through repurposing and community engagement.

Our pantry offers both delivery and pickup services, our pantry wanted to make sure to address key barriers that other food pantries may not fully solve, especially for individuals facing mobility, transportation, or health-related challenges. By addressing these barriers, our delivery services ensure that vulnerable population can access essential support. We are one of the only food pantries in St. Louis City that will offer to deliver to your door.

Our pickup service models a “Shop for Yourself” approach. By allowing individuals and families to select their own food items, our pantry promotes fostering a sense of empowerment and choice. When individuals can choose the food they need, there is less likelihood of receiving items they won't use, leading to reduced food waste.

In addition to our food distribution services, we also focus on programs in composting and repurposing food for outreach efforts, furthering our commitment to reducing food waste.

Our community pantry strives to bring people together around a shared goal of supporting each other. Though we cannot eliminate food insecurity altogether, we believe we can make an outstanding effort in aiding our neighbors and community around us.
